Cat Spirit Doll
This is a handmade embroidered cat ornament with a hand written protective prayer inside to the ancient Egyptian Goddess Bastet. She has been hand embroidered with black and gold embroidery thread and a string of glass coloured hematite beads have been stitched around her neck. A small collar with button also adorns her neck. The fabric is seersucker Japanese cotton.
Poppets are traditionally made with herbs and no features.
As this is a handmade item each one will be slightly different.
Only 3 available at the moment as they quality of the fabric used to make the item is hard to come by.

Inspired by the late, great Niko (my black cat) and the ancient Egyptian cat Goddess Bastet, this little cat poppet has been made to protect your home. As anyone who knew Niko will attest, she was fiercely protective of her domain. The ancient Egyptian goddess Bastet was also associated with protection of the home, especially from evil spirits and disease.
NB. Niko was my pet cat who died in 2019 (pictured).
